Assisted Living or Dementia Care Placement Can Help Caregivers
When a senior begins a new life in an Assisted Living community, I often hear, “My mother’s life changed for the better when she was placed in an Assisted Living community. So did mine!”
The daughter of a woman I placed in Assisted Living told me, “This past year has been a transitional one for my 88-year-old mother. She lived alone in a condo, her health began declining, she was less able to drive, and I became concerned about her falls. She became socially isolated. More of my time has been performing tasks for her. It became clear that a move to Assisted Living would help us both.”
As a senior advisor, I know the work required to care for an older adult living independently; shopping, doctor’s visits, home-related tasks, social needs, etc. It is like being a parent again, with dual houses and lots of specific needs associated with the elderly added on.

Senior home advisors do not charge seniors or their family members for their services. We are compensated by the Assisted Living and Memory Care communities into which we place seniors. We know each community’s services, social environment, apartment layout, and level of care. We build trusting relationships with these communities so that, in turn, we can serve as trusted advisors to our senior clients and families. We also work closely with a client’s estate planning attorney, financial planner and/or insurance advisor to determine how the senior will pay for their new home setting.
