This community brings a 100-year history to its Independent Living community. The original building served the widows of the German merchants who founded this lovely enclave in Floral Park. Today over 40 Independent Living apartments are adjacent to the beautiful original building, which today is an adult care home. The Independent Living apartments are unusually large, and they feature full kitchens. There is a beautiful outdoor garden with entertainment space, and there is a vegetable garden managed by residents. This community features and indoor pool, and the cuisine is led by a chef from a very well-known Long Island catering facility. Plattdeutsche is in the middle of the vibrant community of Floral Park – residents can walk to any kind of store or service needed.
