How do we pay for assisted living?
Assisted living communities usually give families or residents a monthly bill. The resident and/or their family is responsible for paying that bill and managing their finances. Some residents have Veteran’s cash benefits, social security retirement payments, pensions, long-term care insurance, or other sources of income to assist in paying. If you would like to meet to discuss what is available in your price range, please set up an appointment for an initial consultation to see how we can help.
How are you able to offer your services for free?
Assisted Living Locators of Long Island is a free resource for individuals and their families looking for the right assisted living, nursing or memory care home. We receive compensation from the various senior residences in our community. This benefits both the individual/family and the assisted living communities as we personally visit each of the places we recommend so we can find the perfect home for each resident. There is never a fee to the senior or their family, even if there is no placement made.
What is the difference between independent living and assisted living?
Independent living is for adults who don’t require medical or daily living assistance, but who would like a safe and secure residence with activity programming and the option of meal services and light housekeeping. Assisted living typically includes regular housekeeping and maintenance, 24-hour security, nursing observation, three meals a day, resident daily programming, and round-the-clock staffing. It also may include some assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and medication administration.
What can I look forward to when I move to an assisted living home?

You will enjoy delicious meals in beautiful settings with a community of friends. You will have lots of choices in how you spend your day, whether you enjoy going for walks, reading books in cozy spots, visiting with friends and playing games, or attending group exercise classes.
